The head of the Boston Police Edward Davis stated that face recognition system could not identify the suspects in the terrorist attack which took place during Boston marathon.
The main problem was the poor quality of the images, which were taken from a distance and on a weak camera. Even though the photos of Tsarnaev brothers were in federal databases, the system could not find a match. The identifications of the terrorists was possible because of one of their relatives who saw their photograph on TV and called the police.
Johar and Tamerlane Tsarnaev were legal emigrants. Still, one of the brothers featured in one of the FBI investigations.
