The House of Representatives will reconsider CISPA

The House of Representatives will reconsider CISPA

Intelligence Committee of the U.S. Senate approved the proposed in February amendments to The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA). They will be debated in the U.S. House of Representatives this week.

The debate will start at about 10 a.m. and will continue till Thursday, when a vote on the legislation is expected.

The bill was approved by 18 members of the Committee, so its supporters believe that the document will also receive most votes in the House of Representatives.

CISPA will give private companies, including Internet service providers, banks and e-commerce sites, the right to share a wide range of customer information which they believe is related to cyberthreats. April 2012 CISPA was not approved by US president Barack Obama because he considered it inappropriate to existing American legislation and vetoed it.

Google, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Marvell Technology и Yahoo were the supporters of the bill and stated it would allow to provide the highest level of security for networks.
