According to the documents that are at WikiLeaks’ disposal, the US government uses TrapWire technology to spy on people. TrapWire allows collecting data from the surveillance cameras that are placed in stores, casinos and other public places in the USA.
“Every few seconds, data picked up at surveillance points in major cities and landmarks across the United States are recorded digitally on the spot, then encrypted and instantaneously delivered to a fortified central database center at an undisclosed location to be aggregated with other intelligence,” the content of the documents says.
TrapWire is developed by Abraxas, a Northern Virginia company staffed with elite from America's intelligence community.
In Abraxas claim that TrapWire is a tool to thwart terrorism that’s why the details about the technology usage are not disclosed. However thanks to the hack of Strategic Forecasting last year, now TrapWire’s assignment is not a secret.
The documents published by WikiLeaks state that Trapwire can potentially monitor every single person via facial recognition technology.
