Twitter has actively started fighting spammers, as reported in company’s blog.
“We have previously discussed the ways we deal with spam on Twitter. Our engineers continue to combat spammers’ efforts to circumvent our safeguards, and today we’re adding another weapon to our arsenal: the law,” – states the message.
On April 5th Twitter has filed a lawsuit in San Francisco federal court against five "most aggressive" spammers.
The company hopes that it will prevent the crooks from using services to create spam and this will reduce the amount of unwanted messages in Twitter. Twitter representatives think that the filed lawsuit will act as a deterrent to other spammers, demonstrating the strength of their commitment to keep them off Twitter.
The lawsuit is not the only measure that helps Twitter to combat spam. Twitter team also implements various secure technical solutions in order to help to reduce spam amounts and prevent users from clicking on malicious sites.
