Microsoft Corporation discovered that after installing update KB 2823324, which is a part of MS13-036 security bulletin fixing several vulnerabilities, the system would not recover from a restart, or some apps would not run.
After the security update 2823324 is installed, Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations or Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Servers versions 6.0.4.1424 and 6.0.4.1611 displayed an error message stating “Your license is not valid.”
Due to the discovered bug, the researchers initiated internal investigation. They deactivated all links leading to updates until the causes of the errors are found.
Moreover, the security bulletin MS13-036 is no longer offered by Windows Update.
The company advised to delete the installed update manually.
