Kaspersky Lab labeled Mac OS X really vulnerable

Kaspersky Lab labeled Mac OS X really vulnerable

The chief technology officer of security company Kaspersky Lab Nikolay Grebennikov claims that Mac OS X, developed by Apple, is “really vulnerable”.

Grebennikov points out that Kaspersky Lab has recently initiated the analysis of the Mac platform.

"Mac OS is really vulnerable... We've begun an analysis of its vulnerabilities, and the malware targeting it," said Grebennikov.

It should be noted that Apple didn’t contact Kaspersky Lab, and the analysis was conducted independently. However Apple is ready to cooperate in the matters of new OS X vulnarabilities.

Grebennikov considers that Apple doesnt take the operational system security seriously enough. Our first investigations show Apple doesn't pay enough attention to security," he said. To prove his words, Grebennikov reminds of flashback Trojan, which infected more than 600 000 computers around the world. The Trojan exploited the Java vulnerability (CVE-2012-0507). Apple released the patch for it a few weeks ago.
