Source of Apple`s data breach found, FBI and Apple off the hook

Source of Apple`s data breach found, FBI and Apple off the hook

As we wrote last week, Anonymous affiliated hackers group AntiSec published on Pastebin database of 1 million Apple`s UDIDs claimed to be stolen from an FBI computer. After internal investigation and public denials from both FBI and Apple a small publishing company Blue Toad made a confession. It was reported that a database was stolen from Blue Toad`s servers two weeks before the initial release and was made public by unknown hackers.

CompanyТs CEO Paul DeHart told NBC News that his technicians analyzed data released by Anonymous and confirmed its authenticity. The analysis found a 98 percent correlation between the two datasets. He also apologized to people who relied on the company to keep data secure.

DeHart said his firm would not be contacting individual consumers to notify them that their information had been compromised, instead leaving it up to individual publishers to contact readers as they see fit.
